From the back side of Enchanted Rock, I set up and waited for the Milky Way to begin its nighly path through the night sky. About an hour and a half after sunset on this muggy August night, the stars lit up and, as usually, I was amazed by the heavens. This Texas Hill Country image was taking using an IOptron astrotrack - a device used to track the stars during long exposures. While this image was planned out well in advance, I was very fortunate to capture a meteor streaking across the sky. Sometimes it pays to be a little lucky, as well!
