To capture this Colorado image, I hiked up a steep but short (one mile) trail to reach Hanging Lake about 30 minutes before sunrise. I was rewarded by crystal clear and still water. This is one of Colorado's icons, and a Rocky Mountain jewel - well worth the effort.
