After arriving about 4:00am to photograph the Maroon Bells, one of Colorado's iconic locations for scenery, only to find a cloudy sky, I hiked over to Crater Lake. After this easy 2+ mile walk, I returned back to Maroon Lake and enjoyed a nearly perfect summer morning. The air was calm the water was almost still, and the reflection of the Maroon Bells in Maroon Lake was pristine. This Colorado landscape was captured on a summer morning in July in the Maroon Bells Wilderness area.
