On a warm September morning in the Texas Hill Country, this photograph attempts to capture the peace found along the banks of the Pedernales River in Pedernales Falls State Park. The sun was just beginning to show itself as it rose over the distant cliffs and began to stream into the cypress along the banks. On the right, you can see the gnarled roots of the cypress trees as they twist and turn down to the water's edge.
